ABOUT
Reid Melton is a leadership coach and consultant with over 30 years of experience working with business, government, nonprofit, and international organizations. He has served clients in the banking, software, aerospace, accounting, tourism, public policy research, and international development, as well as agricultural chemical, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, and building products industries.
Reid has worked around the globe with the United Nations Secretariat, World Bank and United States Agency for International Development. He has taught and coached international executives at Carnegie Mellon University’s Carnegie-Bosch Institute. In addition to being faculty for the Fielding Graduate University Evidence Based Coaching program, he maintains a coaching practice through his Leadership Counsel consultancy and leads Coverdale teamwork skills workshops around the world.
As a member of the EBC team, Reid focuses on integration of knowledge into skill, as well as serving as a mentor/supervisor.
In addition to coaching, Reid’s work has included teamwork leadership skills development, project and contractor management, vision and value development, quality improvement projects, discovery to market redesign, strategic planning and board of director training.
Reid is certified by the International Coach Federation (Professional Certified Coach since 1998), New Ventures West (Certified Integral Coach since 1997) and the International Coverdale Group (Coverdale Coach since 1986). He graduated from Duke University in Anthropology and has a Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University focusing on decision making and public policy. He is known for his humor, putting people at ease and ability to work at all levels in an organization. He lives in Santa Barbara. A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Reid enjoys keeping his Hindi language skill fresh, watching Bollywood movies.
